WHAT TO SEE & DO

Indoor Places:

Library & CE Centre: The Community Education Centre is home to Milngavie's only library which contains thousands of books; internet access is available, magazines & newspapers and CD's & cassettes. Many clubs meet there and a number of Adult Education classes are available.

Lillie Art Gallery: Throughout the year the Lillie has an exciting and varied programme of exhibitions and events for visitors of all ages. Visitors can enjoy the wonderful 20th century Scottish Art from the gallery's own collection and other facinating exhibitions including paintings, sculpture and crafts.

Sports Centres: Milngavie is fortunate to have two excellent sports centres which each have a large number of facilities including: swimming pools, sports halls, squash courts, snooker room, saunas & sun beds, 5-aside football, bowls hall, aerobics classes, bistros and much, much more.....

Shopping: Milngavie's town centre is pedestrianised and has over 100 traders. There are a number of national companies but most shops are small family run businesses. It is a vibrant centre of the community with businesses ranging from fashion shops and specialist gift/art and craft shops, to everyday needs such as bakers, fruiterers and butchers. There is also a comprehensive range of local services from banks to travel agents.

Pubs & Restaurants: Milngavie has a large variety of cafes, pubs and restaurants to suit all tastes. There are Indian, Chinese and Italian restaurants as you might expect as well as Seafood and American fare.
