Places:
Library & CE Centre: The Community Education
Centre is home to Milngavie's only library which contains
thousands of books; internet access is available, magazines
& newspapers and CD's & cassettes. Many clubs
meet there and a number of Adult Education classes are
available.
Lillie
Art Gallery: Throughout the year the Lillie has
an exciting and varied programme of exhibitions and
events for visitors of all ages. Visitors can enjoy
the wonderful 20th century Scottish Art from the gallery's
own collection and other facinating exhibitions including
paintings, sculpture and crafts.
Sports
Centres: Milngavie is fortunate to have two excellent
sports centres which each have a large number of facilities
including: swimming pools, sports halls, squash courts,
snooker room, saunas & sun beds, 5-aside football,
bowls hall, aerobics classes, bistros and much, much
more.....
Shopping:
Milngavie's town centre is pedestrianised and has over
100 traders. There are a number of national companies
but most shops are small family run businesses. It is
a vibrant centre of the community with businesses ranging
from fashion shops and specialist gift/art and craft
shops, to everyday needs such as bakers, fruiterers
and butchers. There is also a comprehensive range of
local services from banks to travel agents.
Pubs
& Restaurants: Milngavie has a large variety
of cafes, pubs and restaurants to suit all tastes. There
are Indian, Chinese and Italian restaurants as you might
expect as well as Seafood and American fare.
