Spring is in the air and exciting times are ahead for Mugdock Country Park, which has unveiled a new adventure trail, visitor centre and shop.
East Dunbartonshire Council has invested in the park to help create a fresh look for 2016.
The new visitor centre opened on 1 March and is now the first point of contact for the park, where employees are on hand to help with everything – from the booking of events and hiring of rooms to providing maps of the park, and advice on walks and trails.
Children are invited to pop in and draw a picture in the children’s corner, while learning about the theme of the month.
There is also a gift shop with a variety of children’s games, books and toys, and an extensive range of greeting cards and gifts.
Visitors can pick up a ‘what’s on’ events guide – detailing all the activities and events going on in Mugdock Country Park and East Dunbartonshire.
The new visitor centre and shop were created as part of a wider redevelopment of the offices and meeting rooms, comprising a total investment of £60,000.
The Council has also invested £25,000 in a new adventure trail – a fun mini-obstacle course – which is aimed at children aged eight and over.
Other attractions include cafes for lunch, bike hire, the theatre and Mugdock Makkers.
Exciting times are ahead for the park in 2016, with a range of activities for people of all ages.
That includes the return of the MugStock festival of musical and merriment – from 29-31 July 2016. Tickets are now on sale – visit http://mugstock.org/
Last year’s festival was a great success, with an eclectic line-up of music, entertainment, activities and more.
