Bongo

Dear Surflet,

My name is Bongo and I am a Siamese cat. I currently work as a Usability Consultantant for MilngavieOnline.com. Prior to joining I worked as a Rodent Exterminator for Milngavie Council. "No Rodent too Big or Small" - that was my motto. As you can see I'm computer literate. I taught myself to type. Admittedly, since I have no opposable claws, it was difficult. But I'm clearly no dummy!

Life in Milngavie has been very pleasant. In my younger years I kept myself busy by joyfully slaughtering scores of small animals (mice, birds, etc) and patrolling the Milngavie district. My energy level has always been high since I eat well and drink plenty of water (milk gives me the runs).

In my "middle years," I slowed down a bit, but I still managed to kill my share of miserable, little neighborhood creatures. In 1997 (aged 7 or 49 to you) I had the zest to bring down a pheasant! It fought like a champion, but I eventually managed to snap its neck like an autumn twig!

In 1999 (aged 10 or 70 to you) I was hit by a car which broke my leg and pissed me off (the bastard was speeding). For a month I was unable to go outside and had to wear a ridiculous Elizabethan collar to prevent me from licking the wound. Unfortunately, a few months later arthritis developed in my injured leg. Therefore, I was forced to take early retirement from the Council.

Shortly afterwards I decided to retrain - completing a Masters in IT with the Open University. It wasn't easy, but I guess that you can teach an old cat new tricks! Straight after graduating I started work with MilngavieOnline.com.

It has a staff canteen which serves delicious portions of Whiskas - my favourite is Rabbit & Turkey - and I feel warm and loved. Molly "sneaks" me extra portions of Whiskas - she's one cool monkey. Molly likes to brush me too, and this makes me feel great all over! And she cleans out my litter box regularly, something Jumbo and Cedric apparently find frivolous.

Well it's 2001 and I'm a "senior cat" looking forward to many happy years with MilngavieOline.com. I ocassionally do freelance work for the Council, but mostly I opt for leisurely days in the office, working with my assistant Junior.

Always landing on my feet

Bongo
